In December, my church will be hosting a forum to discuss who Mary was, centering around The Real Mary by Scot McKnight, as well as the movie "The Nativity Story," which releases on December 1 on 8000 screens across the country.

In early October, Paraclete Press will have a downloadable "Discussion Starter" sheet, handy for your forum in your hometown.

Interesting! My prof mentioned "Mary Through the Centuries" yesterday by Jaroslav Pelikan.

Will this book talk about Mary's unique relationship to the Trinity? Mother of Jesus, Daughter of the Father and Wife of the Holy Spirit? I hope so! Rich: Joe, I don't know. I still haven't received my review copy. But there is one way to find out... the book releases this coming Tuesday. Look for it at your local bookshop!

Wife of the Holy Spirit? That's a new one! Please expound. :-) Rich: I didn't want to say it myself, but now that Sunshine has opened the door, it would seem that if our friend Jospeh is correct, then Mary is guilty of practicing polyandry, and that just seems a little odd (to put it lightly).

Rich, In light of this book, have you ever read "The True Devotion to Mary" by Louis de Montfort? I'm going through that and see some good and some excess in it. I wish you would do us the favor one day of reviewing that old classic. Rich: Kat, I'll never say never! However, I did just finish McKnight's new book (which is out at bookstores now), and think it is absolutely fantastic! I hope to have a short review of the book online within the next week or so!
