Website Update
Forgive the Mess!

My hosting company was hacked. I lost my site completely. I've restored most of the content, but much remains to be done. Even though a number of problems still remain, I've decided to make the site "live" again, even with all its present flaws.

Because I had to start from scratch, every single (and I mean every single) link has been completely changed. Many links will be dead until I am able to go through the entire site and correct each one. I have to do this manually, so it may take awhile.

Also, I lost all my graphics files, so many pictures will be absent. Again, this may take time to manually correct.

Some good did come of this, however. Using the latest version of MovableType, I am now using tags. Currently, my tags are sloppy and disordered. I hope to clean them up in the future, which should make information much easier to access.

Anyway... forgive the mess! I have some busy weeks ahead in regard to my ministry at Immanuel Church, so progress may be slow. However, there will be much new content coming - even if the links have to suffer a bit.

Who hacked the Site ? Our Church site was hacked by a Moslem group - unless it was just done for fun it means that they regard us as some type of threat and that is not a bad thing - keep up the good work it is greatly appreciated by me and I'm sure many others. Rich: Thanks for the kind words. The hack-job was not a direct hit to me, but a hit to my server hosting company. So, hundreds of sites were taken down by this, and not just mine.

Oh, I am so sorry! That is such a bummer to go through. Thankfully, my site has never been hijacked but I've lost the whole thing before due to my own stupidity. I did not realize your difficulties since last I checked here. I wish you the best and hope there aren't too many headaches. It is a marvelous site and you are a great writer! Rich: Hey, Saltsister, great to hear from you! Thanks for the kind and encouraging words!

Did you see my latest article where I mention one of your articles??? :) Rich: I sure did. Thanks for speaking about me in the same breath as Eugene Peterson - that is certainly a great honor! Also, thanks for so carefully and graciously working through the topic. Keep up the good work! God bless you!

That's really frustrating. As a web designer myself, I know how much work it is to make and manage a website, so it's certainly frustrating to lose stuff. I hope you and your family are doing well otherwise. Rich: Doug, great to hear from you! Thanks for comisserating with me. We are doing well here in Wisconsin. I think you'd love it here. If you ever feel like visiting, know you are welcome. Rock on! By the way, I just check out your website... You cut your hair! Wow! I'm grieving the loss!
